Energy Rajasthan – ऊर्जा राजस्थान The state of Rajasthan was formed by merging 19 princely states (Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Tonk, Bundi, Kota, Jhalwar, Ajmer-Merwara, Udaipur, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Banswara, Kishangarh, and Pratapgarh) in 1949. Very few towns had the luxury of having electrical power. Not more than 42 towns, as well as villages, had this luxury. At that time the generating power of the state was approximately 13.2 megawatt. In 1957 the concept of starting an Energy Rajasthan electricity board came up and Rajasthan State Electricity Board was formed. Several small power plants started coming up all over the state. In the year 2000 RSEB was unbundled because of reforms in the power policies and also various other bodies or say departments were formed. These were:energy rajasthan

2. Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.

RVUN is responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of power projects in the state. Today the capacity of RVUN is 6617.35 megawatt. As of now, there are 6 ongoing projects of total 2800 megawatt, out of which 2 have been kept on hold and also others are nearing completion. A coal-based power plant of capacity 1320 megawatt has been approved.

3. Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd.

RVPN is responsible for transmission of bulk power from generating units throughout the state to the distribution companies. The state Vidyut Prasaran Nigam does the laying out as well as the maintenance and operation of the transmission lines. RVPN has a meter testing lab at Jaipur and also Udaipur. Both these labs are now ISO Certified. RVPN is also an ISO Certified company.

4. Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd.

RUVN looks after the business side i.e. power trading for the state government. It was formed on 4th December 2015 under the Companies Act of 2013

5. Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.

JVVN is responsible for supplying electricity to 12 districts of Rajasthan. They are Jaipur, Karauli, Tonk, Sawaimadhopur, Dausa, Alwar, Jhalawar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Baran, Bundi, and

6. Ajmer Rajasthan Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.

AVVN provides to 11 districts namely Ajmer, Pratapgarh, Nagaur, Bhilwara, Dungarpur, Sikar, Chittorgarh, Banswara, Udaipur and also Jhunjhunu.

7. Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.

JdVVN distributes power to 10 districts, Jodhpur, Pali, Sirohi, Jalore, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh and also Ganganagar. This area is almost as large as the area of Gujarat.

8. Electrical Inspectorate Department

It issues and renews licenses for wireman, supervisor, and It also does the third-party verification of wiremen, supervisors, and also contractors.

9. Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd.

It looks after the solar, wind and also biomass projects. The application can be submitted online for these projects.

How to Apply Energy Rajasthan jobs?

The official website, energy.rajasthan.gov.in, provides all information regarding recruitment. They have a common portal for recruitment for various posts in all the departments or divisions of RSEB (RVUN, RVPN, JVVN, AVVN, and JdVVN). The application has to give in the prescribed format which given in the advertisement. Attach self-attested copies of the certificates etc. with the application. The exam is objective type with multiple choice questions. Questions are in languages, mental ability, general knowledge and technical according to the post requirement. They have to apply online, the admit card for the exam also posted on the website and also applicants can download it from there. List of candidates qualified in the entrance exam also uploaded on the site. Candidates who qualify are the called for their certificate verification after which they have to appear for personal interview. 1.5 times the required number of candidates called for verification.
